After owning this product I must say DO NOT BUY IT! For the same price you can buy an NSD powerball which has a REAL warranty with it. My ball broke and DynaFlex only tried to sell me a new one regardless of the warranty printed on the back. The Sports Authority felt bad enough they ended up replacing the ball free of charge while DynaFlex stated I either buy a new one or pay them to re-send my broken one back. I showed dynaflex a picture of how my unit broke BUT once they received it their opinion changed from "Axels can break when they are sped up too fast" to "the only way our axels break is to be dropped".
Here is as good as it gets, an entire post about this from the DynaFlex forum that DynaFlex removed before people could read it any further:

I just wanted to say I am bummed at this point. I tried a gyro at my friends house and loved the idea so I
bought my own. After a month it started emitting a high pitch sound at start up which would compare to a
bearing going bad and starting to squeak. A month later, today to be exact, I wrote into the company to ask
how the warranty works because the device is now having a much harder time starting and within a few hours I
hear a POP and the balls grinds to a halt. I see the ball has fallen away from the white track it lays in and think
it just fell out of it's track. Then a small piece comes out and the actual bearing inside the wheel broke. I really
like this device but if it's going to break down so quickly and a warranty has to take place often is it really
worth it in the long haul. If the white piece had broken (it looks plastic) I would understand but a metal like
piece breaking is weird right? Has anyone else experienced this? Is the NSD version any better for users who
are going to use this as regularly?

WipeOut,
I think weve been speaking over email but I'll respond here as well. We'll inspect your ball so we can determine
what exactly is going on.
Though it is extremely rare for a ball to break so suddenly, it may happen. We do offer lifetime warrantys on
manufacture defects and we are honoring that with you by going through an inspection. But if it has broken
down there could be one reason one.
Your Forearm strength is too much for the gyro
This usually happens with a lot of rock climbers and other individuals with decent forearm strength. They get
the Pro or Pro Plus and a couple months later it busts on them. Thats because the basic Pro has a MAX capacity
of 25 lbs of force, or 12,000 RPMs. 12,000 isnt that hard to do for a fit individual. It could be that you wore the
sucker down and something busted because it doesnt have as high as a capacity as the Powerball or even our
Iron Power line.
In any case, we'll take a look at it and see what happened and most likely ship you out a brand new one.

To WipeOut97:
I haven't had that problem. My pro just has a hard time starting up and i think i had it going on a year. The
NSD powerballs are pretty good. I own two and don't have much of a problem with them.
To Admin:
The site info bumped up all the RPMs for every powerball to 15K except for the Platinum Powerball which is at
15,500. In theory all of the plastic powerballs should be able to exceed 16,000rpms without busting the ball. So
what gives one dynaflex plastic powerball a higher capacity than the other?

Dstar,
We've been changing a few things in our website and some numbers are absolutely wrong. We stick to the
number 15,000-16,000 RPMS for the powerball. The Platinum has a little bit higher capacity so it can hit higher
RPM's and force, usually around 5 lbs more.
We should have the correct figures up soon.

My WipeOut97 account appears to have been blocked from posting on this forum but oh well.
Thanks for your reply here Joe, we did talk about this and I'm glad I was able to find the receipt.
Dstar,
With your Pro do you ever hear a high pitch squeel when you start it? When the high pitch started I noticed a
quick decline in the ability to get my ball started the first time. Between the two brands which one would you
prefer? If my strength is the issue do you think the NSD would hold up any better and do you think they offer
any advantage?
Thanks

Something was going on with the forum where I had to reset it, which I have, so your other username probably
works now. The forum is relatively new so we are working out all the kinks.
In regards to questions about NSD, both Dynaflex and NSD are very well made products and they likely have
the same amount of random defects we do. Key difference is they are in Ireland and we are in the US. Also,
Dynaflex is the original, we have been around since 1977 I believe.

In case anyone is wondering about my outcome. I spoke with Joe for a few days and DynaFlex has denied my
warranty based on their idea I dropped the ball. I posted a picture here prior to sending the unit in but once
the unit was received the story changed to: "The only way an axle breaks is in a ball drop". Well if that is the
case why did they not say the warranty was automatically denied? Instead I shipped them a ball and paid
roughly $4 to ship it to them. After being received Joe has only been trying to sell me more balls at a price
point to where it is a couple dollars below retail price. I have to now pay them to ship back my broken ball so I
can ship it to the sports authority where they are allegedly going to replace the ball for me.
Joe, you answered the differences between NSD and your company. What you have to take into account is NSD
has a lifetime warranty that goes beyond what you "deem" to be abuse of a product. They will repair any partof the device and ship it back at their cost regardless of what they feel happened. Your price point and NSD is
almost the same so I don't see how your products equal theirs. To me I feel dynaflex has a warranty written on
paper and that's it. I found a few people on the NSD boards with similar experiences of sending a ball in only to
be hit with a "I'll do you a favor and sell you another one" approach.
In the end I spent:
$22.99 dynaflex pro
$3.89 shipping to dynaflex (2 months after purchase)
$5 to mail a label to dynaflex for them to ship it back
$3.89 to ship it to sports authority
total of: $35.77
NSD with full lifetime warranty is: $32 shipped
Dynaflex offered (under their replacement plan):
another 14.95 for the gyro pro
16.95 for gyro +
18.95 for amber light up
Conclusion:
Buy from a company who backs their products such as NSD and stop trying to sell more products to customers
who are attempting to get warranty work done. As I said, why would anyone spend another dime with a
company after they have had issues with their current product? It simply makes no sense from a practical
standpoint.

I bought this and it worked wonderfully well at first, the grip is very good and it exerts a lot of force for beginners like me. Unfortunately it stopped working after a 4 ft drop onto a hard floor, I know this is my fault, however I wish the product would resist this.
Overall good buy but DO NOT DROP IT.

They're nice. They're not too bulky or long and fit nicely in your hands. My guess is that the "Medium" size provides about 5-10 lbs of resistance, depending on the depth of the water. I'm very happy with them.

These are great. When I got them and took them out of the box I was shocked at how light they were and thought they would be useless. I was wrong. Once you get them into the water the water resistance makes them work really well. I highly recommend them.

I broke my wrist, and after time in a cast, most of my forearm strength was gone. In physical therapy, I used an exercise machine that offered resistance as you twisted your wrist side to side (like the motion of this Iron Arms device).
I liked that motion but could not find anything that replicated it. The Iron Arms trainer is the only thing I found that is even close (well, obviously not as good as the multi-thousand dollar machine at physical therapy, but for 20 dollars that wouldn't be expected).
This item consists of two pieces of molded plastic for the "rings", two plastic handles and two springs, so it isn't a heavy duty built piece of equipment. It is, by no means, some sort of wonder machine. Part of the problem is it is progressive, that is, the further you twist, the harder it gets. This is because you are squeezing a spring, so the beginning of the stroke is too easy, and therefor that part of the stroke doesn't really do anything for you. Only when the spring is compressed enough to make the motion difficult does the device have an effect. But then, it gets too hard to push as you go further, so you can not continue through the motion. So there is a very limited range of motion when this device is really effective. It would be comparable to doing an arm curl starting with 1 pound of weight through the first 1/3rd of the curl, then 40 pounds through the second 1/3rd of the curl, then 200 pounds through the last 1/3rd of the motion. Most likely, the first 1/3rd isn't doing any good and the last 1/3rd you can't do, so only the middle third is doing you any good. What I am saying is, this device is not a wonder machine. It works okay, but really, it isn't all that useful for an actual, complete range of muscle building.
Anyway, on my good arm, the device doesn't do much, because that arm is already strong enough that the spring doesn't offer enough resistance to be very effective, but on my weak arm, it is useful.
I think if you are very strong, this will be of little use to you as it only offers a lower level of resistance, but for a weaker arm, it may be useful.
For another exercise, I also use a heavy hammer using the same twisting motion as the Iron Arms. I can vary resistance just by moving the hammer handle farther in or out of my hand. This is also good for stretching the tendons and such, since my wrist lost movement range after the break.
Final word: this is not a great piece of equipment. It is a reasonably decent device, considering the price, than is useful for people like me who have a weakened arm for one reason or another. To tell you the truth, I would never had bought this thing if is wasn't for wanting it as a exercise for my weakened arm after having a broken wrist. $10 would be a better price. And you really need to try this thing before buying to make sure the resistance range will be helpful to you. If both my arms had the strength they once had before I broke my wrist, this thing would do me no good at all.

I was looking for something that would allow me to work my forearms when I am not working out. Unfortunately like most forearm devices I come across this thing does not offer nearly enough resistance. So I guess it is back to the 300lb heavy grips that are hard on my hands. For the average person this thing is probably fine. It seems like a good enough design.

As far as design is concerned, this product is very good and helped loosen up my stiff hands and fingers for the brief time that I used it. The issue is that the balls have a strong petrochemical smell which transfers to the skin of your hands and fingers after use. I hope it is nothing toxic. Update: Distributor of product in Chicago did not yet answer my query regarding whether this product (made in China) is toxic or not. I strongly advise not buying this product. I would not even give this to someone else who needed this product for fear that I may be giving away something that is toxic. It looks like this product will go in the garbage. I ordered a Thera-Band hand exercise ball to replace this questionable product.

I puchased these to help my fiance's tennis elbow. She had tried several other products, but found them lacking. I figured this was worth a shot since it was affordable and had 3 different firmness balls. She has been using them daily and likes them very much. She said that they are exactly what she was looking for.
Edit;
I just started using these as well, for some numbness I was having in my fingers when typing. I worked my way up to the firmest and after a few days of using them, my fingers no longer go numb when typing!

Great product. "Pro" Grip size is larger than the regular Gripmaster, but still reasonable. Finger surfaces are more comfortable on the Pro unit, but palm surface could benefit from a hook like on the regular Gripmaster. Medium tension is about right for the fingertip exercises, heavy tension is good for the closed fist exercises. Be sure to visit manufacturer's website to view all 11 different grips to use to strengthen different areas of hand and forearm. Really helping with ache ; stiffness in my knuckles plus improving strength.

This is my third one of these little gadgets. My first one has survived daily use for over 10 years. I live in Florida and keep it in my truck so it knows how to survive intense heat also. Well worth the modest investment of you are looking to strengthen your hands/fingers or are into rehab.

2 way action Hand AIR PUMP For Pool Floats, Exercise Balls, Rody or Hippity Hop bouncer hopper balls

Product Description

Our most economical model. If you only need an air pump to occasionally inflate your exercise ball or other small inflatables, this will do the job, but larger models are recommended for frequent users or for larger inflatables. User notes: This hand-held, small-sized air pump is easy to carry and store. With the small shaft size, it does take a lot of up and down strokes to fill a 65cm exercise ball. Our test required over 350 up and down strokes to fill the ball. If you pump at a steady pace with no breaks, it should about 4 minutes to fill a ball.

Product Features

  • Small, economical pump for occassional use
  • Pumps on the up and down strokes - Time to fill 65cm exercise ball: about 4 minutes
  • approx. Length: 11" x 2" (unextended)
  • assorted colors
  • NOTE: Does not include or support a needle nozzle (used on basketballs or exercise/balance cushions)

Customer Reviews

Although every time I pump up my exercise ball I feel like I'm performing a sex act, this pump is terrific. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. It's a good quality pump for the money.

I already had an exercise ball, but since it is 10 years old I managed to lose the pump that originally came with it. This pump worked perfectly. It is easy to use, even if you tire easily and don't move well due to medical conditions, like me. It sealed well even when I was just holding it slightly in the hole to inflate. It was real easy to pull back and push the pump and it didn't take long to get my 65 ball from maybe a 55 back to a 65 (maybe took two minutes and that includes inflating it, plugging the hole back up, sitting on it to test it, and inflating it a little more so my knees are at a 90 degree angle). The pump is just under a foot long, which isn't bad, and you don't have to worry about a hose like the other style of pump.

These were just what I ordered... I only wish now that they had been 2", but that was my mistake (the 2" might better fill my larger hands?). How they can make these, and ship them clear around the world, and then sell them for $ 6.00, I will never figure out. I love these little things.

my dad had a set of these a while back, and i couldnt help but love to play with them, being autistic, it was a great sensory release for me, with the combination of chimes, cold steel, and the smooth roundness of the balls, if you know a young adult on the spectrum, this is a great thing to use as a fidget without looking too childish, I personally plan to get some myself soon.

Okay. Yes these are "rubber bands"- but that's okay, because bands made of rubber are one of the best ways to exercise the muscles that push your fingers up and out, and to a lesser degress extend your wrist. Sure you could go out and buy regular rubber bands. However finding really thick ones can be a problem, but the bigger issue is finding them in varying resistances. And progressive resistance is the whole key to getting your muscles stronger. Use the same band over and over and you'll never gain any strength. On the other hand, trying a little bit harder band gives the hand muscles a reason to grow stronger. That's why you get 5 sets of bands with varying resistances- sweet.
I highly recommend these little bands for a well rounded hand/forearm strengthening program. While most hand and forearm devices are aimed at improving your grip, few stop to think about improving the performance of the finger extensors and abductors which open the hand and are used a lot in many activities. Good for people who type a lot, play the guitar, or are trying to rehab their hand/wrist/elbow-give 'em a try! Also recommend Treat Your Own Tennis Elbow if you suffer from tennis elbow.

I was a little skeptical about this product at first. Honestly, who wants to pay for some really big rubber bands? I went ahead and purchased a set of these when I was purchasing a few other things from Ironmind and honestly I use these more than most other products.
These bands provide 5 different strengths and so that you may vary the resistance. In addition, unlike everyday rubber bands these are extremely durable and the perfect size. The smaller bands also work great as a rehabilitation tool for people with wrist or hand injuries. If you work with your hands on a regular basis and constantly find some residual pain in your hands, wrists or forearms you must try these out.
Overall this is an amazing, portable, workout. Once you try these you will be truly amazed at the difference they make.

I've owned two of these and neither one lasted very long. When they first came out they were very well made of aluminum, a real quality product. When the tension wire broke I called the factory and they said no problem send it in to get it fixed. They sent back one made of plastic which lost all weight tension within weeks, its worthless. The problem with this product is that it starts losing tension immediatlely, the spring gets weakened with use. A better product would be with heavy duty rubber bands that you could replace or add to for more resistance. Put the rubber on and I'll buy it again but will do wrist curls with weights until then. They only people who buy this is weight trainers or the injured and they don't care about how it looks just if it works.

I bought one of these years ago. It was made of metal and very heavy duty. You could adjust the tension to very difficult. After a decade, it finally died. I bought this new replacement model. It is light, plastic, and not as substantial. Also, you can't adjust it to the degree that my earlier model would allow. So I have to do many more reps to get to that point of exhaustion. But no one else makes one like this, so what are you going to do?

Customer Reviews

I really like these therapy balls, I got them to exercise and get stronger hands, but they are also really good for stress relief. My husband works in construction and he also uses them and he says they do help to eliminate joint discomfort or pain. It is nice that they are 3 different balls with different softness levels so, I use the softest one and he usually gets the hardest one, so, we can both use them at the same time.

Made of cheap plastic. Very sticky and unpleasant to the touch. Didn't care for these at all. Sent them back. Ended up with a much better product.. .Thera-Flex Therapy Putty.

Customer Reviews

I began my search for some good grip strengthening equipment a few months ago...It was a pathetic sight, watching me fight ; fuss with various jars ; bottles, who's lids would just NOT come off for me!
First, I purchased the blue ; red Gripmaster Hand Grips from Amazon...they were amazing, but you progress through them so quickly, that they become unchallenging after a couple weeks. So, Instead of spending another $12 on the black Gripmaster, I purchased these Valeo Grips.
I'm not thrilled. To strengthen your hands and forearms, it is recommended that you go for more repetitions, rather than high resistance. It is impossible for me to do more than 3 sets of 15-20 squeezes with these because the resistance is so tough. The handles themselves are not conducive to more reps. Once your hands become damp, they slide a bit, making it harder to squeeze and keep correct form.
For someone more advanced, I'm sure these will be fine for you, but for those just starting on a strengthening routine, I'd avoid these for now.

I HAVE USED VALEO HAND GRIPS IN THE PAST AND FOUND THEM TO BE GOOD QUALITY AT AN INEXPENSIVE PRICE. YES, THEY WEAR OUT IF USED FIVE OR SIX TIMES A WEEK OVER A YEAR OR SO, BUT THEY DELIVER. MY SON, WHO IS A BLACK BELT IN HAPKIDO, AND I BOTH USE THESE AND FIND THAT THEY ARE GOOD FOR BOTH OF US IN DEVELOPING AND IMPROVING GRIP STRENGTH. THEY ARE AT ABOUT A MEDIUM LEVEL. NOT TOO EASY AND NOT TOO HARD. JUST ABOUT RIGHT FOR A PERSON WITH AN AVERAGE OR A LITTLE ABOVE GRIP STRENGTH TO STAY IN FORM OR DEVELOP FURTHER, DEPENDING UPON HOW MANY REPITITIONS YOU WANT TO DO.

Thera-Band Flexbar Hand Exerciser - Tennis Elbow Relief Bar

Customer Reviews

Most people probably haven't ever heard of eccentric exercise, which is the type of exercise these bars provide. Eccentric, or "negatives" as bodybuilders call them, are basically the lowering portion of an exercise. For instance, if you lift a weight over your head and lower it, the lifting is the "concentric" part, and the lowering of the weight is the "eccentric" part.
Without a doubt, this is one interesting tool you can use that will provide eccentric exercise for your wrist muscles. So what's the big deal with eccentrics? Well, there have been studies showing that when people with tendonitis conditions do just the eccentric part of an exercise, they get better. Problem is, there are tennis elbow studies specifically showing that if you do just the concentric (or lifting part) only, you get better too (Martinez-Silvestrini 2005). Therefore, eccentric exercise, as this tool most surely provides, will help tendonitis, but its far from a "magic" cure, and you can achieve the same results as doing "concentrics" with a light dumbbell.
Perhaps more importantly though, people with tennis elbow need to know that resistance exercise is just ONE part of what you need to be doing to totally get rid of your tennis elbow.
Studies on tennis elbow and eccentric exercise, such as the one I quoted above, had patients ALSO do stretching exercises and I know of no studies that have had people with tennis elbow do just eccentric exercise alone and they've gotten better. Therefore, suggest people with tennis elbow check out this tool, as well as books like Treat Your Own Tennis Elbow for a well-rounded program. Good luck.

I got Tennis Elbow from golfing in 2003. (pain on the outside elbow joint) I had cortisone shots 2 years in a row to at the suggestions of several people. Each time the pain came back. Then I tried acupuncture. That helped for a while as well, but the pain came back again. I wore the strap on my forearm to lower the pain while golfing. This was tolerable, but not the long term solution.
I heard about the flex bar and googled it on the internet. This was over a year ago. This is the only thing that has worked for me. I have been pain free for over a year. I continue to use it occasionally as preventive medicine.

Excuse my English it's not perfect.
Ended up giving them to a girl friend. Too small for my hands although my hands are medium sized - male hands. It won't allow my hand to open more than 60% of what it can, and this allows about a half muscle workout instead of full.
If you are a male with medium to bigger hands and would like to have a nice strong looking forearms you should go with the bigger/harder ones, with the wider space per opening and closing. These feel like toys in my hands. I could do about 4-5 squeezes per second.

I somewhat regret not heeding some of the advice given by other reviewers on here. This product works very, but I found the resistance to be a little on the weaker side. I suppose it depends on what you're looking for. If you just want to strengthen your wrists a little, this product works fine. But if you really want to build up your wrists and forearms, put in the extra money and buy something better. This product has low resistance and is not comfortable at all to use for extended periods of time. The grips are pretty cheap (foam) and slip and move under your hand.
Take-home message: For the occasional user who isn't too set on quality, get this product, it's a good bargain. Otherwise, keep looking.

I found that the standard spring grips you get in sporting goods stores are too easy (I can do about 150 squeezes before getting tired). These grip trainers are pretty comfortable in my hand and the higher resistance is nice. I found the 30 to be easier than spring grips, the 40 was a little harder than spring grips, and the 50 is pretty difficult (I can only squeeze it about 20 times).
The only complaint I have is that my 40 ripped after about two days of use. The manufacturer replaced the item for me, but only after I shipped the defective item to them at my expense. If I could start over, I would have just bought two 50s instead of this set.

Bought 3 sets of these, for myself and my roomates. I'm liking mine alot, as has everyone else at my office who has tried them. Much better than similar products I have tried that use springs for tension, being both less noisey, no way to pinch yourself, and more 'flexible' in grip. Only complaint is that some people are allergic to latex, which is what I think these are made of.

Thera-Band Hand Exerciser - Available in Two Sizes - Single Packs

Product Description

Thera-Band Hand Exercisers are specially formulated polymer-based exercisers available in progressive levels of resistance in five translucent colors. Two sizes (standard and extra large) accommodate most hand sizes. They're used for hand, finger and forearm strengthening, as well as hot and cold therapy. Progressive resistance in different levels of compression allow each exercise to be geared to the patient. Use the standard size hand exerciser for smaller hands. The Extra Large size was designed for arthritis victims and people with larger hands who are undergiong physical therapy or strength training. An elongated ball, it is one-third larger than the oringinal hand exerciser. Heat in a microwave for 5 second increments and test to find the ideal time for each microwave unit (all microwaves are different), usually no more than 15 seconds maximum. Cool the Hand Exerciser in a refrigerator for 1.5 to 2 hours. The softer yellow and red models fill the gap between putty and spring devices and they're not as messy as putty. The Hand Exerciser is made of a patented non-latex polymer developed specifically to allow full range of motion of the hand and fingers with a consistent resistance throughout the exercise.

Product Features

  • Available tensions from 3lbs to 17lbs force at 50% compression
  • Use the STANDARD SIZE hand exerciser for smaller hands and the EXTRA LARGE (XL) SIZE for larger hands or for people with arthritis or limited hand mobility
  • For hand, finger and forearm strengthening
  • Allows full range of motion with consistent resistance throughout the range
  • Can be heated or cooled

Customer Reviews

I initially ordered a different set of hand exercise balls here on Amazon. I only used them briefly as I suspect they may be made with toxic materials (they have a very strong petrochemical smell and that odor lingers on your hands and fingers after use). So I decided to give the Thera-Band hand exerciser a try. I ordered the medium one (green) in XL and I really like it. It feels great in my hands and it looks and feels like it will last for a long time. The added benefit is that you can heat or cool the ball before using it. As another reviewer wrote, get the XL size rather than the regular size. After trying the green ball, I ordered the extra firm ball (black). So I warm up with the green, and switch to the black after I've loosened up a bit. Very nice product. If you have reasonably strong hand strength, I would minimally start with the green. I will probably order the blue to complete the set of what I would need.

This is the most user friendly, helpful hand exerciser I have ever tried. I am 77 yrs old with arthritis and I keep one by my bed, and one by the TV. Easy to pick up and play with and it's not a big deal. I recommend the XL even if you have small hands. It isn't much larger than the small one but the shape is easier to use. I have the red and the green ones. They are the least resistance but for my hands they work perfectly. If you have any stiffness in your hands and/or fingers, these really feel good and keep your hands more flexible.

Gripmaster Pro Hand Strengthening System, Extra-Heavy Tension (11 Pounds per Finger)

Customer Reviews

From all the previous reviews, I knew these hand exercisers would be good solid devices - and they are. My only concern was what tension level to pick. Just as a data point for others, I'm a 71 inches tall, 180 pounds, fit male. I lift weights regularly, but am by no means a bodybuilder or powerlifter. I purchased the medium strength units, wondering if 7 lbs per finger was too much or too little. I've found that if I power grip them (basically just grab them like a barbell, squeeze and release), I can easily do 100 or more repetitions. This leads me to think that the Mediums are too light if I only want to power grip. Same is probably true for many of you.
However, two things changed my mind about this. First I went to the Prohands website and found that several of the exercises they demonstrate (e.g. fingertipping) are much harder than the simple power grip. Also, by holding the grip for 3-5 seconds as recommended, even the power grip becomes more challenging. In the end, I've decided that the 7 lb units give me a very good workout.
My suggestion is if you only want to power grip, then you may want something heavier - obviously dependent on your hand strength. But if you value doing exercises that fully articulate your fingers in various ways, then you might want to try the Mediums.
Please be kind enough to indicate if reviews are helpful.

I've been using Gripmasters for many years now and my only complaint was that rubber piece that sits against the palm kept twisting off the grip. So when I lost my Gripmaster and decided to replace it I was thrilled that I found the Pro unit. It resolves my only complaint about the Grimaster by removing rubber piece and molding a new palm rest directly into the unit.

Customer Reviews

I ordered this Isolkinetics Hand Exercise Squeeze ball because I thought it would help with tension and stress relief and might also help with occasional stiffness from writing or doing other tasks. I got a green one and it seems to work very well. I suppose there isn't much that could go wrong with one of these things, but the green one which is a medium resistance level seems about right for my purposes. The egg shape is nice and has an interesting look. It would probably be a good product for someone with arthritis or other conditions affecting the flexibility of the hands. It would also be helpful in improving one's grip.

This is a great stress ball to work on my anxiety and stress. I got the extra soft and soft and they are just perfect. I got one egg shaped ; one ball shaped. I think I like the ball shaped better, but it's not that big of a difference. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the texture is sticky, any time I drop the ball it ends up picking up some of my 3 pets' hair. Even though I vacuum all of the time, any time you drop it, stuff gets on it especially hair if you have pets. And while it is easy to wash off, I just wish it wasn't so sticky because having to wash the ball any time I drop it is kind of a hassle.
But what I like about the texture is that it is long lasting and you'll have it forever cause it won't break.

Customer Reviews

I purchased this product since I have been chewing my fingernails for years. I figured if I had something to keep my hands busy, I wouldn't chew anymore. The Isokinetics Hand Exerciser Squeeze Ball worked really well for me this way.
Pros:
+Cheap - if you were to find one of these in a physical therapy store, I guarantee they'd be expensive. Thanks Amazon!
+Extra firm - it seems I will never have enough hand strength for this ball not to work.
+Bouncy - if you get tired of squeezing it, it can serve as a fairly impressive bouncy ball too!
+Easy cleaning - Soap and water are all you need if you're going to clean it.
Cons:
-Bouncy - Although this is a good thing, it's bad too. If you happen to drop this ball, expect to chase after it. For this point, the egg shaped might work better since it would stop bouncing more quickly.
-Black - because it's color is so dark, make sure you know where it is. A few times it's bounced away from me and been a struggle to find since it blends in to dark carpet.

I bought the black ball and enjoyed using it. I didn't realize it was only 2", after about a week I had already lost it in my room. The balls will easily bounce off to the corners of your house. The resistance of the black ball was as expected. I have larger hands and the small ball wasn't a problematic, but I would've preferred something a bit larger. Compared to some of the grip balls filled with sand or beads that tend to break after a month of use, these will last a lifetime (if you don't lose it). The material makes them easy to clean as well. Overall, I like them, just wish they were bigger!

Gripmaster Hand Exerciser Yellow, X-Light Tension (3-Pounds per Finger)

Customer Reviews

Our daughter took up guitar about 6 months ago. It took her about forever to master the pesky "F" chord. Her teacher noticed she was developing the bad habit of holding her third finger on top of the pinky finger to get it to hold down the strings. "Just not enough strength in that pinky finger", says the teacher. Enter Gripmaster Finger Exerciser! Works like a charm. And hey, her basketball dribble is stronger now too! The kids at school are jealous, they think it's cool, her bright yellow contraption. Rock on, Gripmaster!

As soon as I put it in my hand the first time and started squeezing it, I loved this little thing, it feels GREAT in my hand, very ergonomic design, and the springs are nice and strong too (even though it's the lightest model!). I would recommend this model the highest over the next three for somebody who is just beginning to strengthen their hands, it says right in the packaging that, "Hand specialists recommend lower tension and more repetitions than higher tension..." etc. The springs aren't quite strong enough for my index and middle fingers, but are perfectly strong for my ring finger and pinky, which are the fingers I'm trying to work out the most (just on my left hand, for playing bass guitar). The blue 5 pound exerciser would probably be too much for my pinky and ring finger, and I would probably end up over-doing things and get tendonitis again in my left hand, so follow what they say, lower tension and more reps! It works great as a stress reliever, or something to mess around with, so more reps over a long period of time would be better anyways!

Captains of Crush Hand Gripper

Customer Reviews

If you are really serious about hand grips, and you want something that is not your standard sport shop model, this is where to go. I got the Trainer, and for someone like myself that has been using hand grips since childhood, it was too easy. Then I got 1 and that was tuff; but I decided to get 2 and 3 as well. I have just recently graduated from 1 and using 2, and maybe in a year or more I can go to 3 and get certified.
Let me tell you this, if you can squeeze 2 at least once all the way, you are good. You can't really understand what I am trying to tell unless you get one. So if you are person that has never used hand grips regularly if at all, then go with the Trainer. If you have been using hand grips for awhile, and looking for something harder, then get the 1.
Remember to always squeeze hard!

I was searching for a durable quality gripper that took some power to close. I figured that I would have no problem closing the Trainer and figured I would buy the Trainer and the Level One gripper. Glad I bought the Trainer. The Level 1 is pretty tough to close and I like to do it a few times then go work on the Trainer.
As for quality like Mr. Baotic said, these are high quality. Now that I have two I want the whole set. I've heard people complain that the grips are a little rough but they don't injure you at all they are just rougher so they don't slip when you sweat. If you want a quality, durable, gripper buy from the Captain's of Crush line. I know I will never go back.

Gripmaster Pro Hand Strengthening System, Medium Tension (7 Pounds per Finger)

Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description
The Gripmaster Pro isolates and strengthens each finger individually, helping you improve your overall strength, endurance, and dexterity. A few daily workouts with the Gripmaster Pro and you'll enjoy better control of a baseball/softball bat, tennis racquet, or golf club, with each finger working in seamless unity with the others. You'll also find a ton of other uses for the Gripmaster Pro, including playing guitar or violin, rock climbing, bowling, target shooting, martial arts, yoga, or even relieving stress while clicking a mouse or gaming for hours on end.
To keep things interesting and to accommodate certain uses, the company recommends several different exercises, including the "fingertip pinch," "flatfist," "powergrip," "wristflex," and "thumbpinch," most of which are explained on the Gripmaster website. Best of all, you can work out anytime and anywhere with the Gripmaster Pro, which fits neatly in your pocket when not in use. This particular version of the Gripmaster Pro offers a medium tension of 7 pounds per finger--a recommended tension for average strength hands.

Only the patented PRO (by Gripmaster) isolates and strengthens each finger individually to develop maximum power, dexterity and endurance.

Gripmaster Pro Hand Strengthening System, Medium Tension (7 Pounds per Finger)

I have been climbing walls indoor and outdoor for over 5 years now and this gripmaster pro is really impressive. It is build extremely sturdy and fits my hand much better than the regular gripmaster (which I would also rate 5 stars!). I purchased the 7 pounds and the 11 pounds pro version. I use them for hours everyday, whenever I have a free hand I grab one and it definitely increased my strength endurance. Now when I am struggling to finish a climb this little device gives me the extra strength that I need.
